In this video I have explained about nouns and kinds of nouns. Noun is the nane of person, place, thing and animal. It also express an idea or a feeling. There are five kinds of noun. Common nouns, Proper nouns, Collective nouns, Material nouns and Abstract nouns. Here I have explained ony two kinds that are Collective nouns and Material nouns.
What is collective noun with examples
Collective noun is the name of collection of person, place, thing and animal taken together and spoken as one word.
Eg. A swarm of bees, a bunch of grapes, a herd of cattle, a bundle of sticks, a fleet of ships, a pack of wolves, a band of musicians, a brood of chicks, a choir of singers, a gang of robbers.
What is Material noun with examples
A material noun is the name given to the matter or substance of which things are made.
Eg. Gold , water, wood, wool, glass, China clay, plastic, paper, steel, iron, cotton, rubber, leather, cloth, nylon, salt, sugar, pumpkin, oil.
Gold is a precious metal
We cannot live without water
Wood is used to make furniture
Blankets are made of wool.
The two kinds of nouns are explained in a very simple way that you can learn very quickly. This is the basic level of English grammar that each and every child should know to compete in this world.
