DIY Homemade Masks - Tips and Tricks to Improve Functionality

DIY Homemade Masks - Tips and Tricks to Improve Functionality Here I describe a few simple tips and tricks for enhancing the performance of DIY homemade cloth masks. Mask scarcity isn't a short term problem, and as the general public begin to return to work, it is important to think about how to improve the functionalities of a homemade mask to decrease the likelihood of indoor transmission of Covid-19.

1) Improve filtration efficiency & breathability
2) Improve fit & seal
3) Add splash protection barrier
4) Ensure mask and filter are clean

Materials:
Fabric (9x9in.)
Elastic bands (7in.)
Zip lock small/medium bag
Aluminum foil
Tegaderm Roll:
Canola oil spray (spray only the outside layer of the mask to prevent oil from getting on filter or face, i.e. place zip lock bag in the mask while spraying and let dry before removing the bag)
