Convection heat transfer: Optimal strategy for guessing (broadly) predictive exp'l. design equations

Convection heat transfer: Optimal strategy for guessing (broadly) predictive exp'l. design equations An intuitive strategy for introducing physical reasoning into the difficult, but central problem of guessing a reasonable experimental design equation, here, for measuring the convective heat transfer coefficient, h, is discussed. The proposed strategy is based on diagnosing the Reynolds number- and Peclet number-dependent flow and heat transfer structure of our convection heat transfer problem. Based on our rough, intuitive picture, we can often reasonably guess the important parameters that play a significant role in determining h.
