Human trials of COVID-19 vaccine set to kick off in July

Human trials of COVID-19 vaccine set to kick off in July Human tests for a COVID-19 vaccine could start in Australia next month after a team of University of Queensland researchers signed a deal for trials and production.

The partnership will fast-track the development of a vaccine after promising early results and, if successful, it could see 100 million doses of a vaccine produced by the end of next year.

UQ Associate Professor Keith Chappell said “our vaccine is more closely related to the traditional type of flu vaccines that you get.”

“It tells the body that it’s a danger and makes the body make an immune response,” he said.
