Customary Laws synergy towards self-determination of Biafra.

Customary Laws synergy towards self-determination of Biafra. Customary government is lawful in Nigeria – IPOB Solicitor

The customary law is as valid and legitimate as any other corpus legis (body of laws) in the Nigerian Legal System. Section A2 of the Legal Instrument tendered in Court as Exhibit B states that the Supreme Council of Elders whose members were disclosed in the Court records had the duty under the Nigerian Customary Law to oversee, manage and control the affairs of Indigenous People of Biafra. Yes, it is the duty of the Elders of the land to manage and control their children. This is the Nigerian law.

It is that customary government that will ensure steps are taken towards the realization of legislative policies enacted for self-determination via regional autonomy, plebiscites and referendoms.

So organization is key. Statutory recognition of the Customary Governance is the next step. Deed Polls are already constitutionally available and legally recognized. The Biafran province needs to ratify the deed polls (multi-lateral treaty).
