#EverythingAboutConcrete #TheConcreteUnderground #MikeDayConcrete In this video I'm pouring a 1600 sq ft concrete patio slab. The patio slab slopes three inches away from the house and also slopes towards the driveway.
We did all the forming, pouring and finishing for the concrete patio. The gravel sub-base was done by an excavation contractor. The slab has a foot of gravel base under it.
We installed 2" of styrofoam under the slab to help protect it from frost heaving. The slab has wire mesh and fiber mesh for reinforcement as well as two rows of rebar around the edges.
We use 4000 psi concrete for our concrete patios slabs and we have air-entrainment added to the concrete. This helps prevent or reduce the effects of freezing and thawing has on concrete. (Spalling)
