Coronavirus: Canada's health minister says COVID-19 vaccine will not be mandatory

Coronavirus: Canada's health minister says COVID-19 vaccine will not be mandatory Canada's Health Minister Patty Hajdu was asked about a potential COVID-19 vaccine on Monday and said that "we believe people have a choice" when asked about a potential COVID-19 vaccine being mandatory for Canadians.

Hajdu added that no vaccine is mandatory in Canada and that a COVID-19 vaccine "would be no different." She says there are some exceptions to rules in some jurisdictions.

Hajdu also said that the "majority of Canadians understand the value of vaccines and we don't see the same kind of vaccine hesitancy we see in other countries around the world."

She said it's important for Canadians to use "credible sources" when they're looking for information on vaccines.
