How to read and write a Bosch EDC16 ECU using BDM100: Read description before watching or commenting

How to read and write a Bosch EDC16 ECU using BDM100: Read description before watching or commenting A guide detailing opening the ECU, connecting the BDM adaptor and reading and writing the ECU within the BDM software. The video shows how to use the original EVC BDM100 tool with a spring probe, and also how to use the chinese BDM100 tool with a soldered connection.

Update 1: This is an old video now, and we actually don't recommend the soldering technique, it's better to spend just a little extra and get the spring probes and a positioning, this reduces the risk of damaging the ECU. It's very easy to pull the pads off of the board.

Update 2: The Kess V2 does a very good job of programming the EDC16 over the OBD port, so you don't necessarily need to remove and open the ECU any more. At the time of making this video most tools were unstable over the OBD method and this is why we made this video.

Vehicles with the Bosch EDC16 which we cover are:
Peugeot/Citroen/Volvo/Mini/Ford 1.6 16V (EDC16C3 & EDC16C34), 2.2 170 (EDC16CP39), BMW 2.0 & 3.0 Diesel (EDC16C31).
