Is The Trivelis DBSS In Clementi Worth Its Smaller Living Spaces? A Review With Ghib Ojisan The Trivelis DBSS was launched with great anticipation as it was the first new HDB in over 10 years in Clementi at that time. Developed by EL Development, the 888 unit project was one of the now discontinued Design, Build, and Sell Scheme (DBSS). Not many people were impressed by the smaller than usual unit sizes, but to others, the lifestyle benefits like big balconies, condo-like exterior, and keycard access were intriguing enough to make up for it.

But to the first buyers dismay just 5 months later, the BTO Clementi Ridges was announced. This BTO project would be bigger, cheaper, and newer - and not to mention, its 40-storey height too meant that the views at Trivelis would be blocked.

And that's not the end of it. There were numerous defective issues once it was completed, and the local forums were rife with annoyed homeowners complaining about the state of the defects.
