Should the UK dig a tunnel between Scotland and Northern Ireland? DUP MP Sammy Wilson has supported the idea of building a 25-mile tunnel to connect ports in Northern Ireland and Scotland to help with post-Brexit trade.

Speaking with talkRADIO’s Ian Collins, he said: “I think it would be an indication that, when the government talks about projects which will cement the UK together, then that would be some evidence that they really meant what they said.”

But Tory MP Simon Hoare argued: “There are other things that can be done…I don’t think we need any more symbolism.”
